USCIS Announces New Citizenship Test
A new citizenship test will be administered to naturalization applicants beginning in October 2008, USCIS announced today in an official press release. Earlier this year a four-month pilot project was conducted to test the use of the redesigned test. Together with today’s announcement, USCIS released 100 sample questions. The goal in redesigning the test was to emphasize concepts of civics/citizenship instead of rote memorization of facts about US history or government (which is the style of parts of the current exam).
